Wherever you are right now, take a moment to know that all things are exactly as they should be. Look around and notice what in your life has fallen into place that had every purpose in the world to be exactly that way. Now, take a moment to see beyond where you are and to think about your life with new wonder, with new eyes. Look at your life as this wonderful story that is unfolding all of the time. You aren’t in a race to get where you are going, you are simply unfolding.

Where do you see yourself in the future? Think about all of the potential realities ahead of you and be as dreamy as you can. Have you published that book you’ve wanted to write? Have you gotten that new car? Did you find that stay-at-home job so you can spend time with your kids? Think big!!

If you keep on clinging to who are you are right now you will miss the opportunity to meet that future, amazing version of yourself. Let go and see what happens!

This is an excerpt from my new book –

Tools for the Journey

Inspiration for Change

Most of the book deals with profound change in your life. No matter what size of the transformation you wish to begin, you first need to make room for a miracle to happen….

To make room for miracles you will need to create actual space in your life and in your self. There are things you might need to let go of on the road to growth. This might not be a person or a place. It might be as simple as losing a few pounds to feel self-confident. Maybe it means leaving a job to find a new one where you can showcase your talents and abilities.

Clearing out your physical space, your body and your mind, sends a signal to the universe that you are ready to receive joy and direction. Clearing out clutter inside and out literally creates clarity.

You have to actually create space in your being to accept new life. You have to let go of your own story to be able to write a new one. You will need to let go of limiting beliefs so you can replace them with true facts about your abilities and your power to create the life of your dreams. You have to surrender. You also need to clear yourself of energetic blocks so new life can flow through you.

How do you know a miracle when it happens? It makes you feel wonderful and excited and just completely in awe of how this amazing gift made it’s way to you. It’s relief in the time of stress, a moment of joy in the times of sadness, renewal and love and opportunity no matter where you stand.

Keep your eyes open and ENJOY!

I’d love to hear about YOUR miracle… you can comment here or email me at

I have to be honest, I’ve never understood the theory that we have to forgive people that have done bad/terrible things to us. Why? Why forgive them and let them off the hook? Well, I’ve come to realize that it’s all about your own “energy”. To be truly happy and to have the energy of the universe flow through you, you have to have positive energy in your life. Blockages will only hold you back. You have to clear them and you have to look first at the things that are really upsetting that drain your energy the most. I definitely believe that you don’t have to forgive someone to their face. You’ll get the same clarity forgiving them in your heart. Clear out negativity and the positive will shine through.

I think for many people it takes a real wake-up call to decide to get healthy. It could be health or some change of circumstance that makes a person stop and look in the mirror. Following a miscarriage close to 10 years ago, I decided I’d do whatever it took to get healthy and feel good. I changed my diet to “moderately healthy” – now I’m vegan so I still had a journey ahead of me there. I went to a healer who was tremendously helpful, both in energetic healing and as a source of therapy. I went to wellness seminars. I took on a new exercise routine that wasn’t crazy – just an hour of walking the dog per day. I got certified as a Reiki practitioner and took yoga teacher training.

You know what? It helped. I think it really launched me on the journey to wellness. I think the thing that helped so much was that it was a diverse approach to healing. I approached it on different levels. Of course, healing takes far longer than we’d like. Still, I think I really benefited from a “whole person” plan.

If you are at a point in your life where you need to heal or just to investigate wellness techniques and options, the best thing you can do for yourself is to create a wellness plan. This might include the following:

Physical – begin a routine such as walking, joining a gym, taking yoga classes, doing some exercise videos. Ease into it – start at a few minutes a day and go from there. Get a physical & full blood workup. You want to start on a path knowing where you are currently so you can see where you go. Physically, you can actually count numbers to see how you’re new wellness routine is working.

Emotional – Consider coaching or short term therapy. Have a good cry, read an inspirational book. Find a place that you love to go to to think. Know that to overcome many feelings you need to live through them and process them first. Don’t back away from these feelings. Work through them. You can also label feelings if they are too difficult to deal with at the time. You can say, “this is sadness” or “this is anger” Feelings lose their power if you do this.

Mentally – Meditate!! See if you can take a break. Great if you can go on vacation! Sometimes I can get a mental break walking aimlessly around a bookstore or going to a movie. You want to get out of your own head and think about something other than yourself. It’s not taking a break, but you can also research whatever it is that is making you rewrite your life script – example, if you are ill you can learn as much as you can and maybe join a support group, etc.

Spiritual – Take a look and evaluate your spiritual connections. You need that connectedness to feel whole and remember your core beliefs. Do you belong to a spiritual community? Do you believe in God? the Universe? What is your faith? Have faith. You need to have faith.

Financially – Get your money in order. It feels great to face any money issues you have, no matter how unpleasant it might be, and settle up and clear out any debts. You really need to do this before you plan your wellness package. You need to know how much money you have to spend on some of the things you’d like to do. Put money aside for a fund specifically for fun/vacation.

Give it a try! From my own experience… it helped… a lot!

That’s all for now!

“Grounding” yourself means, literally, getting out of your head and your thoughts and coming back down to earth.

The best way to ground your energy is to literally take to the ground. Try hiking, camping, skiing… Gardening is a great way to connect to the ground and have earth and soil right in your hands. Plus, studies show that gardening can boost your mood and burn calories to garden PLUS the home-grown benefits!!

Taking a look at your diet is essential. Try to eat foods that are alive and come straight from the earth. Growing your own fruits and vegetables is the best way to do that!

Yoga is a great way to ground yourself. Notice where your body touches the ground in the different poses. Be sure to end with the Savasana pose, also known as “corpse” pose. The pose is done by laying down flat on the ground upon the earth – and, opposite of the name, you’ll feel more alive by doing it!

Well, if it would warm up here in the Northeast or if the sun would ever shine – it would be spring. And, at this time of year we naturally think “in with the new and out with the old”. Losing “clutter” which are things that no longer serve you. It might mean actual stuff around the house that has no place anymore – on the shelf or in your life! It also refers to the clutter within your body, such as weight. It can also be thoughts and/or beliefs that no longer serve you. Take some time to think about what that might be. Organizing or clearing out clutter in a room of your house is a form of self care. It’s a gift you give yourself. So – don’t find it daunting! Start one thing at a time and soon you’ll be able to create a comfortable space.

I have a feeling I’ll do more posts on this topic!

Until next time…

Many more to come – Enjoy!

We are now going to look at how you can be sensitive to the energy of strangers. In some respects, this is the easiest one. I had read people’s energy, of course, as we all do – noticing facial expressions, stance and how they dress, etc. It’s something a lot of us do without thinking – but not everyone. I think it has to do with looking beyond ourselves. Some people just read people as a means to their own end. They think people are reacting to themselves and that’s all they care about so they don’t notice how other people are feeling, of course.

So – for starters, you have to look beyond your own nose! You have to SEE people, even those you don’t know. Everyone has something worth seeing. That person is actually not responding to you. If you really approach a person with the intent to see them they will give you a glimpse of their true selves – even if it’s just a vibration or a feeling.

I think it has been a bit of self-preservation for me. I moved all of my life, switching schools nearly every year. When I was meeting new people, I was usually in a hurry to make friends and, so, I’d look for them. I’d look for kindness, funniness and I’d get a read in just a few days on who I’d like to be friends with. Sure, there were other obvious things like choosing people who were friendly enough to approach me and/or offer to show me around. But, still – it was clear who was genuine and who was not.

I organize several trade shows a year where I work. This past year I started to realize that I had some very clear feelings about people that I didn’t know. I think it actually began with a man who approached the booth and said nothing, actually. He was uptight to be sure but the anger eminating from him made me actually step back A LOT – like to the back of the booth. I thought that was pretty interesting so I decided to try and “read” people. Perfect venue, right? Here are actual strangers approaching me without me even having to go scouting around.

Sure enough, there were a few – not everyone – that had such powerful and distinct energy. There was one woman who smiled and had friendly eyes but her sadness was so strong I had the urge to stop her and ask what was wrong.

As I said, not everyone can read the energies of others and not everyone is “clear” enough to have their energy “readable”. Here’s how to try to see if you can! First step that I mentioned before is that you have to completely put yourself on the back burner. If you are at all concerned about how you look or what you want for lunch you aren’t going to be able to do it. Try to look past what the other person is wearing and doing. Try to look in their eyes. Then, you yourself put out a silent message of “I’m here – it’s ok to be yourself.”

From my experience… bingo. That’s all you need. Be sensitive to very slight feelings. Just keep practicing and have fun with it!!

If you are recovering from an illness or trauma, it’s crucial to have the frame of mind that you are beginning anew. There is no looking back and while your life may have changed and will continue to change, it’s all good, filled with promise and good health. A little inspiration:

The infinite wind is sweeping my heart, body and soul, bringing me the breath of a new beginning. –nari
